Back in March I wrote a
letter to our IVF clinic about my endometriosis and how I felt about the fact
that they didn’t investigate whether I had it or not, and that if they had, and
it had been treated, we may well have our child with us right now.
I didn’t post it!
The letter was teaming
with anger and name calling…not exactly the most productive way to get the
clinic to understand us and our situation. I meant to write that version of the
letter exactly as I did as I needed to vent completely before I could write a
letter that could actually be sent to the clinic.
I have written that
letter now and emailed it to them last week. It’s below for you to read if you
wish - just double click on the picture to open it so that you can actually read it!
Oh – and to date – I have
heard nothing from the clinic…not even an acknowledgement that they have received
the letter and that it will be given to the person to whom it was addressed.

I am sorry your clinic let you down so badly. It sounds like they were only interested in the money and not proper patient care or actually finding out the reason for your infertility. I would be so angry too. Is there a place where you could post a review of the clinic to warn other people. I hope that they will respond to your letter.
Yes - I hope they respond too - although ironically I received an acknowledgement email of receipt of my letter last night from the clinic!!
I'd rather not go down the path of reviewing them negatively yet...but rather let people know more widely what they should be asking their clinics. You know empower the people! :-)
We'll see what they come back with!
Thanks for your comment!!

It can't have been easy, either to write that letter or to send it. But I hope too it has helped to know that, at the very least, they will be more aware of the issues you have faced, and hopefully prevent someone else going through the same issues.
Any clinic (in fact, any company, health sector or not) should have review procedures for considering the issues raised in such a letter. I do hope that they respond appropriately, and that they can improve their services for the women coming afterwards. If so, then you have done a great thing.
Thanks Mali - I have a good feeling that the clinic will respond. It will be interesting to see what they do say though.
